Tehachapi: End of an Era features 25 movements along the Southern Pacific (SP) Mojave Subdivision shot between July 16, 1993 and August 14, 1994. Of these movements, eight are meets. Other short movements appear in the DVD's bonus section (posted on our YouTube channel).
Several stations along the line are featured, including (in geographic, westbound order) Monolith, Tehachapi, Marcel, Walong (Tehachapi Loop), Woodford, Keene, Bealville, Caliente, and Bakersfield. Atchison, Topeka, and Sante Fe (ATSF) and SP power dominate, but guest power includes the Denver and Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) and the Union Pacific (UP). Leased power also appears, including a rare Electro-Motive Division (EMD) demonstrator run.
